Emily works as Associate on The Education Partners team. Emily received her Master’s in International Educational Development from Teachers College, Columbia University, where she researched the impact of school conditions and socioeconomic status on student’s access to education. Her thesis research examined how school environments impact educational outcomes for Roma students in Eastern Europe. She also co-founded an education abroad startup, which increases college preparedness through a combination of entrepreneurship and global citizenship education.
Prior to graduate school, Emily taught English in a secondary school and at the University of Hradec Kralove through the Fulbright Program. While living in the Czech Republic, she also conducted research on art as a tool for increasing English comprehension and cross-cultural competence in ESL classrooms. She has also worked in politics, specializing in tax and education policy, which included working for the Minnesota House of Representatives. Emily holds a B.A. in International Relations and History from Augsburg College.
