Dina Crowl serves as the Senior Vice President for The Education Partners, the global consultancy division of GEMS Education. She is a visionary educator dedicated to the success of all students. With over 30 years of experience in public education, Dina has a long history of engaging state and school leaders in high-level conversations regarding school management, instructional leadership, and overall school improvement, and has been instrumental in designing strategies that have transformed learning environments and education systems.
Prior to joining The Education Partners, Dina served as the Superintendent of Schools for the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) in Hartford, Connecticut. In her role as superintendent, Dina led the CREC magnet district while building a strong culture of commitment to excellence. As the Superintendent of Schools, Dina was responsible for simultaneously maintaining CREC’s Magnet Schools long-standing history of success while also cultivating new and innovative ideas to prepare students for 21st Century Learning. In her time as superintendent, the district had significant growth and many successes in student achievement. Preceding to her position as Superintendent of Schools, she served as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning where she aided the magnet division in its significant student growth school portfolio expansion. Prior to her work in the magnet division, Dina served as Director of the Institute of Teaching and Learning for a sales division of CREC- a regional service center (RESC). In this role, she was responsible for developing meaningful professional development opportunities for educators. Her leadership and supervision allowed the Institute to flourish, furthering its goals of increasing professional development offerings and support for all schools in the Greater Hartford region. Dina also served in Hartford Public Schools as a teacher, reading consultant, and the Director of the Early Childhood, PreK-8 Language Arts, and K-12 Professional Development programs.
Dina’s leadership style is characterized by her emphasis on innovation, integrity, and the rigorous pursuit of high intellectual expectation from both students and teachers. As a results-driven education leader, she encourages each member of a school community to commit to ensuring every student learns and performs at a high level. Her coordinated approach to education system management enables schools to implement improved frameworks for rigorous curriculum, instruction, assessment, coordinated professional development, and effective models for teacher development, growth, and support. In addition to her numerous professional certifications, Dina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Connecticut State University, a Master of Science degree in Reading Education from Central Connecticut State University, and a Sixth Year Certificate from Sacred Heart University.
