Slavko Gaber is an associate professor at the Faculty of Education – University of Ljubljana. He was Minister of Education, Science, and Sport of Slovenia during the period of conceptualization and implementation of the national school reform. As an expert, he has worked with OECD, UNDP and European Commission and has been active as a consultant on educational policy and reform, especially in the CEE region. He is also editor in chief of the Center for Educational Policy Studies Journal (CEPS-J).
His fields of expertise cover sociology of education (equity, equality, social inclusion) and education policy studies (power and education; education reforms and organization; quality assessment and assurance in education.) He is currently concerned with issues of democracy and education and with questions regarding the future of education and its relations with the development of technology and changes of the role of wage labor.
